Hello all from Merino.  Merino is located in the far Southwest of Victoria.  I have a small rural property about half a mile from the little township of Merino, 30 miles West of Hamilton.  A big portion of this is under the XYL's beautiful gardens but I still have a bit of room for an antenna or two.

My amateur radio hobby revolves around 160 meters CW DX, home brewing H.F. amplifiers and various other radio oriented bits and pieces.  I have been licensed since 1978.  These days I am retired.  I also enjoy doing a bit of wood turning as an extra hobby.

I am also the C.F.A. (Country Fire Authority) Communications Officer for the Merino Group which consists of 16 fully outfitted fire brigades.  This is one of the biggest groups in Region 4.  It is a 24/7 year round commitment.  I also run the Regional CFA Border Net for Victoria in liaison with the South Australian CFS.  This is a voluntary commitment which suits my availability and radio communication skill and experience.
